What makes surface warfare special?

Those individuals that have chosen to work and live on the high seas, surround themselves with unique, daily events that require special adaptive skills much different then the physical skills of our landlubber peers.
Ships move in many dimensions and our bodies must cope with this movement, subsequent with our own motion. As Surface Warriors we really do move alot; from climbing countless stairs to different decks, to traversing multiple ladderwells to move throughout a variety of access trunks. (Next time one of your landlubber buddies challenges your daily sea-life rituals as no big deal, task them to get to their cubicle by climbing via the elevator trunk vice using the elevator itself.)
SWFFT is unique in that, our audience is the Surface Warrior and not the individual that flies comfortably above the high-seas or the stealthly sub-surface sailors that avoid the challenges of surface maritime events (I.E. -boat operations, underway replenishment, helicopter operations, boarding vessels.)
Ships require hard,non-stop, unforgiving labor to maintain equipment and preserve the hull's integrity. We live, work, eat, and sleep with our co-workers. In the event our workplace has a catastrophy (fire, flooding, electrical problems), it is the Surface Warrior that must answer the call.
Surface Warriors are required to keep their warfare competency highly proficient, all the while, getting adequate rest and maintaining a high-level of fitness (physical and mental). SWFFT's goal is to provide a functional fitness resource for Surface Warriors to utilize in their endeavors to maintain the highest level of fitness while at sea, with only limited exercise equipment, small spaces, and compressed time schedules.
